I'm currently using a couple of free keyword tools - Adwords Keyword Tool and the Wordtracker Free Keyword Tool - are there any other tools worth working with that I am missing?

The 2 big guys are Micro Niche Finder and MS. I've used them but honestly though the free tools do the job. Then there are special techniques that always require some manual work to check google (like seeing if there is user content/blog sites in the top 20).

I also use something called Traffic Travis, they give you a free product with some advanced features that are removed unless you pay. TT + Adwords is a great combo..but veterans may have other opinion.

Oh, and I also use the Google Keyword wheel on the left side of the search. Lots of good ideas there.

I have used Keyword Elite and changed to Market Samurai.
Both are good, but I think Market Samurai is more responsive as they are constantly updating.

    I would suggest Market Samurai.

I've used pretty much all of the big KW research tools out there and I like aspects of all of them.
Keyword Elite 2 is awesome for quickly filtering through tons of keywords and getting lots of information on them. The "matrix" style competition analysis in Market Samurai is awesome (you get practically the same thing in Traffic Travis, free version, too).

If you're looking for a free option, a combination of the Google Keyword Research thingy, Traffic Travis, SEO Quake and Microsoft's Online Commercial Intent thingy will get you all the info you'll ever need.

I’d like to recommend Market Samurai, it is free.
And the two primary keyword sources of Market Samurai are Google Synonym Tool and Google’s Search-Based Keyword tool which help to find the most profitable long tail keywords. There are lots of videos showing how to use it to find relevant and high traffic keywords.

Personally I like Market Samurai as well as doing manual research and using the google keyword tool to cross reference. Automated tools are great, but sometimes rolling up your sleeves and really digging in can lead to the best results.
