Articles for SEO (Marketing the article)

I've recently been told that a new good way of building good quality backlinks with no footprint is to create a good quality article with two links in the resource box then create links to this directory which in turn creates a more authority backlink to your site without leaving a footprint.

Is this a good tactic? Ha anyone tried it?

 

Well written, relevant articles with a good resource box including a couple of links shouldn't do you any harm at all. Traffic and backlinks. Article marketing is a "hardy perennial" if the internet marketing/SEO world.....

You promote your site through articles and also want to promote the articles website giving them backlinks?

its a good tactic but its hard to do writing good article or costly to hire someone to write, you can make quality backlinks with this effort and cost

its not good, to promote others websites it won't give you much advantage, think of power of internet we have many ways of building links from free to paid, but most probably free links are good links, try to post in forums, forums are good place of discussion where you can advertise your brand name and build link as well!

I think you should just get some quality content for article submissions. Give 2 backlinks to your wevsite and submit it in couple of good article directories like ezine, articlebase, amazine etc. This would serve your purpose of getting quality backlinks and these articles would get cached soon as well.

 

its a good technique, but do not focus only on it. use other off page methods to promote your site

Sure you can write and article and add a link on this forums, you also have the option of submitting your articles to many other article directories. Ensure you put up quality content if you want to get enough traffic and sprinkle some keywords in the title as well as body of article.

 

It's certainly a good idea. As other have said I think the focus needs to be on quality. Human readers are well tuned to sniffing out self serving sales messages and won't read the articles (and won't link to them).

That said you need to make sure you're writing articles which make sense for what you're trying to promote.

I'd make a list of the articles you think would be useful for those who'd be interested in your products / services & then think about how they'd be optimized for the keywords you're aiming at. If they can't be then the article would drop down the list of things to write.

Doing it the other way around, i.e. having a list of keywords then thinking of articles which could include them isn't a great way for thinking up compelling & useful content. Whenever I've tried to do it that way round the articles end up useless and spammy.
