I've got a great domain name... Hicktown.com Just can't get an "ahaa" idea to develop it. Looking for some "off the wall" ideas.
A compendium of redneck jokes? I dunno, it's somewhat of an 'offensive' term, if you will, so maybe you can develop it into some sort of humor site. Unfortunately, a 'hick' has no other English meaning other than a (presumably) uneducated country bumpkin. Best of Luck!
Do something social with it. Have contests for people to send in the most ridiculous picture, get viral traffic from social networks and places like digg.com. Once you get some sizable traffic submit your site to be included in the 2Leep blog network and watch your viral traffic explode. Have like or dislike buttons etc. Think about that walmart shoppers website, where people can post stories and pictures of the odd people who shop at walmart. Visit project wonderful if you wanna get the ball rolling on traffic. There pay per day traffic model is great if you want to advertise on some high traffic sites for cheap.
Make something that directly interacts with the users, like a flash game (about hick's? i dunno) or pictures/jokes that the users submit.
Humour will be your friend , Else make it a social website somehow or make it a story writing website
