Which is better for reseller hosting, HostGator or JustHost

Discussion in 'Web Hosting' started by Webed4it, Sep 6, 2010.

I need a small reseller hosting account for my clients sites, and hostgator looks really good but justhost is a bit cheaper. Which is more reliable and can anyone tell me how to check the speed of the servers, i.e. how fast my sites will load.

Also if anyone knows about another cheap but reliable reseller with only a few accounts, 10 or so, please do tell.

    Thanks in advance

I would recommend HostGator over JustHost. I have heard too many bad stories about JustHost. If you are looking for a cheap reseller I would recommend CDDHosting.

Yes, you should better go with Hostgator only. Its a little bit costly than Justhost but you will get what you will pay for. :)
And their support is also too good.

    Non of them.
I read at DP - about Recent Outage about HG. LOL! Ok - If you fix your mind to choose between them then drop the plan to reseller host. Keep that money.. and buy something for your own which is not stuck u!

HostGator is good no doubt. But a bit costlier. As everyone agrees, quality comes always with a cost.

I think you need to try both of them. That would be the best for you and will give you best results

So HosGator it is then. Anyone know how the "unlimited" cPanels work. For example if you take the 50GB account and sell 1GB accounts can you only sell 50 of these or does it depend on how much your clients have used and not their limit?

If you offer something beyond the resources that they gave you, that is called overselling. For your info, Hostgator reseller hosting don't allow you to oversell. You have to go with their VPS or dedicated server if you have plan to oversell your service.

I believe if you do some search for their names you will find out a lot of information about them. But you will have your own experience and that could be differnt from others.

    Yes it works.

If its oversell function enabled, then you can even sell 100 account with 1GB each.

Don't go with hostgator, their price is too expensive.

Hostgator is using The Planet servers. Hostnine is also using The Planet servers. That's what I was told. Of the two, I prefer Hostnine because I am never in favour of companies which are hosting so many websites.

    @OP
You can also buy a small vps from virpus. They have an offer on atm. Only 5usd per month for a smallest plan, if I remember rightly.

The free support is a pro but their reseller option only has 5GB disc space while Hostgator has 50GB. HostGator is still my #1 choice!
