Hi Dp Members, I am planning to make a membership site, in which people could pay a particular amount and get access to around 10 ebooks every month. I would update the site with new ebooks every month and members can get access to them. They can use them like they want to. But the problem is, I do not know how to market or advertise this site or about this site. Kindly leave some suggestions. Thanks.
I wonder if a general site would be a good idea. I would think a topical one would attract certain people eg boating or riding or computer etc.
There are many ways to advertise your website: article marketing, building SEO website, join affiliate networks
1) Build the site. 2) Market it with link building to get those organic searches coming in. Also market it with article marketing, Facebook, Twitter, etc (remember to keep it targeted). 3) Deliver them the content each month. You can't expect to keep those recurring payments if you aren't delivering them what you promised them!
First of all do proper onapge and offpage optimization of your site. Then promote it on social media sites. You can do social bookmarking, article submission, classified submission, press release submission, forum posting, blog commenting for promoting your site. Initially give some free ebooks, so that you'll get more traffic.
You own this idea. But i just wonder, why ten ebooks? and how you are going to decide the fee? ebooks can be cheap to expensive. Now to answer your question, you can use adwords, banners, direct ads on related blogs etc. It would bring the target traffic who may turn to
Are all you Ebooks helpful to your memebers? To be honest, your idea is really interesting and creative, however, it is easier said than done. In order to attract others to join it, you'd better provide all you Ebooks freely and then let them help you promote your site. If your Ebooks are really useful, they will be happy to promote your site.
Thanks for the response. However, the number of ebooks is not fixed yet so it can be changed. I am not using any thumb rule to decide the number, i just randomly decided it should be 10. And yeah, about the fee is a lil confusion now.
I agree with the suggestions above: affiliate networks (clickbank), articles writing, adwords, etc. You could also try a few press releases, some forum participation, and some squidoo/hubpage pages, etc. I say write 9 that are members only, and write 1 that you gives to members, but also release to the general public so that they can see the value of your books. You can make the free one shorter and based around something people are really searching for. Maybe make it funny/unique in some other way to attract attention and make it go viral. You can market the hell out of a free ebook pretty easily these days.
