SEO for Cities/Towns on my State Pages

    Hi all,

    I am looking for any advice I can get to make my State pages rank higher for cities/towns?

    Currently we rank very well for all our State pages but after doing some research I find a lot of queries for cities/towns.

    e.g. Idaho widgets (1st page in Google)
    e.g. Boise widgets (Not in the top 20)

    The site list companies from cites/towns across the State.

    I welcome all ideas.

    Just do reqular linkbuilding using state keywords, mix it up with other state keywords and optimize each page with the state name and/or zipcode or such unqiue things

    Are you looking to get into the Google Places 7-box? Regardless, find city specific forums and directories to put your site listing on. I would also put something for each city that says something to the effect of "Serving these cities: Boise, etc." or "Proudly serving customers in these zip codes: #####, etc."Also how do you have your cities on your site? As sub-domains, or directories?
