The Google Sniper method of choosing domain names based on your keywords isn't a new concept. It's been a nuance of SEO for quite a while for SEO experts. It depends on what you're trying to do. That being said, if the domain name/keyword match is available, then I would take it. Google is all about relevance, so if you dedicate the domain to a keyword, and you back it up with relevant content, then you'll get indexed better in theory. In a nutshell, it works for me and my customers...and I think it's particularly important to use the keyword in the domain when you're doing local SEO (i.e. Los Angeles plumber, etc.).
In my experience it's been a great help to have a relevant domain name using keyword(s). As well as (seemingly) being a boon as far as SEO goes it helps with branding and being "memorable" to visitors. A little time spent on basic key word research when selecting a domain name can't hurt you - and a relevant domain name can have resale value should you decide to flip the site/domain at a later date. Thanks, Andy.
Absolutely. I've always done anything I could to pair kw phrases with domains, however keep in mind that .com's a re still king. I bought a bunch of .info's when they first came out thinking I had hit a goldmine just to learn they would all become essentially irrelevant to the SE's.
