getting a couple of my sites pr moving back and forth the last few days
also seeing some backlinks moving a bit

different data centers show different results and ONLY what google want to to see NOT what they know about *sigh*

 

Google is constantly updating and data centers do not share the same index, so it's not uncommon to see varied results from day to day or even on the same day.

In any case, it's nice to see our directory on the first page of the results...

 

This is spot on by CReed and I feel it is important to add that G will do whatever they want to do, so in that regard I concentrate on my business instead of watching what G are up to

 

Is this really an index update or is it just an update that a Googlebot did for your site after crawling and finally finishing your site's indexing?

 

this one domain had a pr of 4 earlier when i looked and it was 3 when I sold it. Not its back down to 3. thats really weird.

Maybe the PR is all freaking out due to a mass update. But they should let us all know whats going on since alot of people buy domain's based on their pr

Just as I guessed it would be. It's no update. It's Google messing with the two types of results. Play around with your type of search....

i noticed i actually got a PR update on my Directory in my sig , which i now changed

 

yes its updating, iv had 3 of my pr0 sites go to pr5 and 1 site wich was pr0 go to pr6, iv also had loads of pr3 goe to pr5.

I love pr update

EXACTLY. This was supposed to be a STFU thread to all the idiots who keep going on and on about 'micro updates' and all that other nonsense.

And finally - some jackass red repped me - probably someone who did not read the original post, or it was someone that did and was offended bc they are one of those PR update fanatics.

I dunno what the big deal is about PR anyway. Its just ONE of the factors that affect how G rate your site. Im not dumb enough to claim to know how much of a part it plays but my site has been PR4 for ages yet it climbs the SERP's all the time for relevant terms because rather than worry my head about PR I tend to work on growing good relevant incoming links, continually growing the content of the site organically and ensuring all the other SEO techinques for on-page optimisation are followed. I'm sure PR plays a small role but for me its an indicator that I'm not anything bad rather than something to be pursued relentlessly... in the end I dont care if my site doesnt have a high PR as long as we are constantly achieving higher traffic and increasing sales...
