If you are targeting only local then you should do some SEO on-page for that target area.

First, optimize your site for 'organic search'. Write few articles & submit to top directories. Write powerful press release and submit to top directories. Your next step is to create more backlinks from directories, forum posts, blogs.

Second, Post your ads to classified sites including Craiglist, Gumtree, USfreeads etc. There are hundreds of free classified sites.

Third, create a twitter account & get over 5,000 followers. Tweet interesting links & post your products links often, communicate with your followers via DM. You will get impressive conversion from twitter.

    Fourth, run PPC campaign.

There are so many things for Local Marketing Ideas, Marketing is the management process that identifies, anticipates and satisfies customer requirements profitably. Put another way: the right product, in the right place, at the right time, at the right price.

I have been doing offline marketing for a while but I help get their website onto page 1 of Google.

The key here is to approach your target customer, and offer a 21 point inspection of their website.

Also you can hand out a personalized book with content about SEO and marketing.

In addition, setup the appointment when your done doing all that, so you can review their websites problems with them the next time you meet. This will increase your rate of getting this customer by 100%

Once your done, you can generate traffic and leads by examining the market place leader in that niche. Then get links similar to what they are doing and start marketing in the area they marketed to... you instantly become a placement holder of that niche.

Okay Okay, there are a lot of ways to figure this out.

First, search for what you think your customers are searching.
You will see other sites pull up, from there take their source, look at the title tags and the first 3 keywords tags and then search thoses in their own browser tabs. From
there you will see more website pull up, see if the site you pulled the source code it ranking on those keywords, you might have to do this if you are not able to find the google search tools.

Second, you can market sam product to look for keywords. From there you will be able to look at your competitions ranks and what they are doing to pull in traffic.

Third, take your competition's url and go to compete.com and put in your comp's url and if you are using the free account with compete, you will be able to see only a few keywords they rank for. This will help you along in figure out what the best keywords are for your local area.

Fourth, use adwords and use the exact phrase match method and do keyword+city, keyword2+city, keyword3+city and on and on. This where you can see what you customers are clicking on to see what triggers them to click, if it is the keyword or the ad...I recommend you do 3-10 ad variations on each keyword related adword.

Fifth, you can use your competitors url and put it into spyfu.com which is a free tool for finding information on your comp.

the best way to get into a rankings is to figure out what other people are doing and then do it better.

Craigslist would probably work well, but don't just link out to a website. Get them to email back to you and then send them your offer/service after they've contacted you. Or... contact them first.

If you are running a brick-and-motar store, why not Try hiring a couple of guys or girls wearing strange costume which fits the theme of your business to send flyers and posters on the street.
It needs to be eye-catching. Should be helpful.
Besides, getting onto the yellow page is also necessary.
If you could affor giving away a few hundred calendars with your logo, it could also be effective.
