How do i make my article ranked high in search engines for the keyword? Do i have to build backlinks for that inner page?

Yes, submit to social bookmarking sites, build backlinks or even a linkwheel between articles. Also submit articles regularly so when a user likes your article, they might check the author name for more articles, thus driving traffic to your other articles.
One idea is to get backlinks to your article in say EzineArticles by putting say 2 articles in iSnare with one link in each to your EZ article. ISnare widely distribute your articles generating multiple backlinks and hopefully visitors. Your articles need to have good content and you need lots of them.
Make sure when you submit your articles to directories that you use long tail noncompetitive keywords in your anchor text. Normally directories will let you use two sets of keywords. I personally use UAW and it has built me a great amount of backllinks in the last 60 days. But you can also do this manually if you have the time. Set a goal for yourself to try and write at least 4 articles per week and submit them to the directories. If you have a blog, make changes to your articles and then post them on your blog also.
