I totally understand where you are coming from and I care about validation, and would love to make every page I have error free.

The thing is, how can you say that the huge sites can do what ever they want, but everyone else can't do what they want?

As long as your site works and is indexed, and shows the same in different browsers, I don't think that validation is going to matter much. As I mentioned before, I don't think you realize how many web programmers DO NOT follow the guidelines for validation.

If the big dogs are not following validation, they are not setting a good example, so why should anyone else worry about validation?

Don't get me wrong, I care about validating my sites, but I have validated them as much as possible and have fewer errors than most sites in cyberspace.

I know your websites are not error free, so if you are going to preach this, you better make sure that your sites are all validated with NO errors.:)

You can worry yourself to death about validation, but not to many people abide by it....I try the best I can, I have removed dozens of errors from my pages.

    google.com/finance: 135 Errors, 12 warning(s)
    Google.com: 35 Errors, 2 warning(s)
    yahoo.com: 175 Errors, 31 warning(s)
    Facebook.com: 9 Errors
    nasa.com: 63 Errors
    aol.com: 431 Errors, 301 warning(s)

They need to start setting an example.....I'm sure they have other worries besides validating a site's source code that already works.
