IM confused - Mesothelioma - & other high value kw's not working

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by joeychgo, Sep 12, 2004.

I started to develop content on my site for higher paying keywords...

First I made a page for oone KW that relates to the general topic on my site:
    See it here

Yet, all the adwords ads are PSA's -Not one ad for the related Keywords........

So, as a test, I made a post about Mesothelioma, Mesothelioma Information, How is mesothelioma treated, etc by copying some of the text from a site that got google adwords for the topic. STILL I dont get ads for mesothelioma.

I am confused. Why can I not get google to taget ads properly?? What am I doing wrong??

    Hi Joey,
Just checking - could it be that you did not give it enough time. From what I have seen on my sites, the time taken for AdSense to Sense the content could be between 0 minutes to 4 days.
    Thanks

You should be patient, it's even not cached yet. For this case, I think Google will display public ads or general ads according to your website's theme.

fair enough. I thought it was something like 3 hours to get targeted ads, my mistake.

Although - I have other places on my site that received tageted ads much quicker...........

Just a little confusing is all as im trying to learn the best way to optimize things for adsense. Mesothelioma seemed to bea good choice for experimentation. maybe I should try Mesothelioma cancer or maybe Mesothelioma attorney --- or what is Mesothelioma.

I had the same problem, it took the mediabot around 2 days to show relevant ads.
So my advice: Wait at least 48 hours more, if you'll still have psas showing, maybe you should think about informing Google then.

Probably because the right keywords haven't been triggered.

You'll need a content rich page with mesathelioma terms like asbestos cancer etc etc

The Lawyers aren't going to pay $100 for a site which only mentions the word mesathelioma.

    What does everyone else think?

I agree. You need to make the content of the page targetted to the ads you would like displayed.

Chucking a mention of words here and there isn't going to let the adsense be targetted.

Don't forget the semantics of the pages. Google will probabally look at the semantics in order to judge exactly what ads will be displayed.

Well i got mesothelioma ads right away just with a minimum work out on blogger but the problem again is that i did not get much as i wanted hardly a 0.07$ or a 0.10$ per click, once or twice it made it 0.50$.But as far as the word mesothelioma is concerned it doesnt seems to be a High paying keyword, although all the Web gurus say it is.

I think the advertisers are onto you guys that make adsense pages as well as google and the screening is alot higher before they throw you high paying ads. This evidenced by the increase in adsense target sites recently being taken out of the program by google and you not getting the high paying ads you expect.

I think it's silly to try to get into basically a TOS violation type site while others are falling.

What's the difference between asking for clicks and this? Both are TOS violations and we know it. Yet we rat out people that ask for clicks while exchanging information on how to do another TOS violation. That is kinda hypocritical.

That will be 2 cents please.

You are hardly likely to get mesothelioma ads on a website about lemon cars, are you? What kind of crappy ad network would serve highly targeted cancer related ads to a site about motor vehicles?!?

And Khushal, you might be an 'unprofessional newbie' as you put it, but at least learn to spell 'mesothelioma' before you rip off the content of another website

I can see ads with lemon law in ur page. Infact every ad is targeted to the word lemon law or lemon.

    So what is the problem?

Also, it wont take 4 days to get the bot shows the relavent ads, it just takes some 15 minutes. there is no need to get the page cached to see the ads.
