I am trying to understand Google’s page rank system. This is what I understand so far: PR6 with 20 total do follow links on the page = so each links receives .03 worth of PR? PR6 with 2 total do follow links on the page = 3.0 worth of PR? Can someone please confirm this for me? I am also assuming that internal and outgoing links receive the same amount of PR? As I understand each page automatically receives 0.015 worth of PR? So essentially 66 indexed pages with only a link going to my homepage will give me a PR1? If this is true then what would happen if there was 666 links going to the homepage? Would I get a PR10? I don’t think so. I am confused about this. Any help in understanding this would be much appreciated.
A quick google search would have given you an answer I must ask though, why are you worrying so much about PR ... since the toolbar PR is invariably out of date (by up to 3 months). Here's an article I wrote: Why PageRank Doesn't Matter
As i understand Goolge will index pages deeper by having higher PR. Am i mistaken?. While i have a well put together link structure on my site, most of my pages are not indexed. While PR can be out of date by 3 months, it is still a good indication of future PR.
First, stop worring about PR. You can't control it without getting busted. Second, no your math and assumptions are wrong. One PR6 link is good, Six PR6 links from the same site not good. Six Pr6 links from different IP address Sites good.
To timur1505 Not correct. The best way to do this is by setting up a Google Webmaster Tools account for the site, submit a XML sight map. When Google shows that they have processed the XML Sitemap... THEN Trick: From the Dashboard, select Site Configuration >> Settings Then at Crawl Rate Select: Set Custom Crawl Rate to ~Medium Fast (~70%) Then save it. Don't do it again!!! Some where down the road Google will reset it to what they want, but in the mean time every page you have will be indexed. Oh, if you have the "Your site has been assigned special crawl rate settings. You will not be able to change the crawl rate." message, you can not do this until it goes away.
