If you can't decide by yourself, then the choice will always be a Mac. Far more intuitive and user friendly, Macs are designed for ease of use.
I'm a PC guy but would love to get my hands on a mac and just play around with it to see how I would like it however I think I would stick with PC for work anyways.
I would not mind using a mac, but the price for a PC is so much cheaper. Is mac more superior and worth the price?
I can easily use a Mac but I prefer PC because there is allot more support for various programs I use during development off software and other digital products.
This is the subject of another very long thread on the Microsoft board. There are some studies out that say the Mac is actually cheaper ownership than a PC because 1) the quality of components is better causing fewer breakdowns and maintenance 2) components, drivers and software are all under one company and, therefore, tested and more reliable where most everything under Windows is from 3rd parties making Mac usage more reliable and updates/upgrades more frequent and/or cheaper.
I have both. First I used the mac for most work, but then I needed some programs that only run on pc so now the mac is mostly used for sound and graphics work.
This is very true. When it all comes down to it, computers running window's have hardware of equivalent power, but Mac computers are far more reliable for both the safety of the operating system (much more linux based than windows which is a class of it's own) and apple is notorious for consolidating it's production and limiting third party input (just look at the iphone for example). This kind of ease of use and security is great for a long term purchase, but you could potentially buy 2 (maybe even three) PC's before you meet the cost of a good mac. Personally, I use a mac, but it was a gift to me. If I had to purchase a computer myself, I would possibly have to buy a PC because it is significantly cheaper. Then again I've had my mac for 2 years already and after upgrading the memory then I see no need to get a new one (except for sheer desire for new stuff )
CODE IS CODE. The person consuming the product (code, design, music, words, etc) doesn't know or care what OS you used to create it. What you use to create the product is important to nobody but yourself.
I use both. I have a super fast gaming PC and a sexy iMac which is where I do most of my stuff. I've triple booted my Mac with Linux Ubuntu and Windows XP so I can play all Windows games on my Mac. Mac is overall better, it's reliable and there are no blue screens of death!
I have to say that I like Macs better as a user. I only own a PC, but I've used Macs quite often, and I prefer them so much more.
Mac all the way. I couldn't live without mine. Its faster and more reliable for web development. It has the best text editor too (Coda).
