Which more important , on-page seo or off-page seo ??

 

You need both.... for some really non-competitive keywords just changing the title tag should be enough .

They are both equally important. If you do a great job at one and lack work in the other then your site won't rank so high.

 

I agree both are important, but I think I spend more time on off page seo.

 

When will noobs get it into their head that in SEO there is no factor better than any other, they all need to be used to affect rankings. Neither is more important, you need both.

 

On page also plays an important role as do off page, its like a 30% keen on page with Good SEO can yield a 70% off page results, only if you do off page then itself but not automatically, which can be done by promoting your website online.

 

Both on and off page seo are critical - in my experience, they should be carried out in tandem - this ensures a smooth climb up the rankings for your targeted keywords. You could have the most informative and creative website or blog on the net, but until people actually realise it's there, traffic = zip.
On page seo + off page SEO + (quality) content development = visitors.

Both are important. On-page optimization is easy and can be done in few minutes. However off page seo takes time for link building and other stuff.

 

Agree with who say both are important but off-site requires more effort and time with compare to on-page seo.

 

Certainly Off Page is more important. You can't rank in the top 10 for any competitive words without backlinks. You can do hundreds of on page tweaks advised by "gurus" but the guys with thousands of backlinks are going to trample you

 

Both are important. If you get your pages correctly optimised you will need less off page optimisation to get the desired results.

From my experience I would like to say that both on page and off page optimization are required. First on page optimization is must to optimize your website internally. After that you should go through off page optimization. Off page is important to increase page rank, traffic and also keyword ranking. So both are most required thing for traffic and visitors.

 

Both are important! Quality content is also very important for SEO because people will talk about Your website if You have interesting content...and this will bring links to Your site!

 

Actually I think that on-page SEO is something like 25-30% while off-page is 65-70%. Why do I say this? Well I saw a lot of flash build website with only a title tag and the rest was javascript and 2 html lines, there was clearly no on-page seo going on there but they ranked no.1 for some keywords that were not in their title(the only seo like thing on their website) which led me to believe that off-page seo is more important. The other websites competing for that keyword were made in html and had lots of unique, usefull content.
I also think that it's really a balancing act, depending on your website, the percentages can go from 25%on and 75%off to 50%-50%, there are lots of variables you should consider.
