    you can check through register.com and choose on whois lookup link then type your desired domain then you can get.

    yes, use who is tool. recommended tool, who.is and domaintools.com
    use domaintools to check how many domain dropped and
    registrar changes or nameserver changes

    there is a myth that describe aged domain will index faster. CMIIW

    As everyone said that you can try domain who is tool . I think the more old domain is the more value he can have but only if it was working and just not purchased and parked .
