Has anyone figured out anything we should do more of (or less of!) now that Google has updated its indexing service, now called Google Caffeine. I read on the Google Webmaster Blog that the bots will search the web more frequently now, to update content on the SERPs more frequently. And the SERPs also are featuring more video & image content options to click. Has anyone figured out any hot tips in light of this? Any cool tips & new strategies been figured out? Any pitfalls to beware of? What's the word on Caffeine on the underground?!
If it's faster it doesn't seem to be THAT much faster. It still takes over a week for a page title change to update in the listings. It seems that SEO work/backlinking can take a week in some cases as well. I'm still waiting for the day where I can see changes I make today in place tomorrow Wouldn't it be so much easier to judge effectiveness that way?
Yeah, caffeine seems to have been a bit of a dud as far as I'm concerned. It was overpromoted/underdelivered IMO. I'm still seeing the Google bot index websites and then hold the info for a week before updating their cached copy/listing. From their announcement, I was under the impression that the crawl to indexing time was supposed to be reduced or eliminated. I understand things take time, but Google really did over-promote it a bit. In Google's defense, it supposedly unlocks their potential to ramp things up in the future whereas the old system would always be capped in terms of how fast it could update the listings.
Wow, Caffeine isn't showing fresh results as fast as they made it sound? It's good they're trying, though, as any improvement is good. I'm really into the revamp of Google Images, and would LUV to see more of my images up across the top row. Any suggestions for getting my images to rank higher?
If they can make this happen then it will be a big help as you can easily test some seo tactics as you can see the results right away.
