How to speed up site loading in WP?

    Hi ppl!

    I have problem with slow loading wp site (www.planethopia.info) and don't know how to speed it up..

    I am using WP Super Cache but it is not effective like I thought it will be. Any suggestions?

    Compress your CSS, JS and images is required to speed up your site load..

    Don't know why u says wp super cache not effective.. I'm using it for my news website.. and it's very good plugin -- I think,

    Or, if you have more cash, try to buy CDN service.

    Gzip your site if it isnt enabled, check for injections which would make your site slow! Also try a light weight theme if theme is what making the whole site slow!!

    I checked your website and it is quite fast. If you have already installed wp super cache ( or any other good caching plugin ) all you can do now it to optimize your code and images for speed. You can also buy a faster server.

    Well, when I check my stats on Alexa, they tell me that my site loads too slow and that 96% of sites are loading faster. Maybe, there is some mistake on Alexa page or something else.. I always try to compress pictures when uploading them on website so that's not a problem, I think..

    Don't get caught up in stressing over Alexa. It's not that accurate and it generally means nothing for small sites. Trust your own eyes, tools, and Google.

    Seems alright from my end, if you are worried though another thing you can try (apart from compressing CSS etc as already mentioned) is putting javascript in the footer rather than the header, some plugins have an option for this and some don't but every little bit helps.

    The YSlow plugin for Firefox will give you these tips and more, but as others have said it really is loading fine.

    Firebug and YSlow will give good feedback but fast for me too - especially the internal pages.

    If you are wanting to get really techie you could move the css, js and header images to a subdomain. Theory is that a browser will only download X (currently 4) items from a domain at a time so if you have 8 images on your (1) page and 4 stylesheets and 2 javascript files you have 15 items to download so you have a queue. If the stylesheets were on a subdomain then there would be 2 queues downloading at the same time. Don't go mad though - takes effort to coordinate and can trip you up.

    Loads under 2.18 seconds using http://gtmetrix.com/. I don't think you need to install any other plug-in. You might try W3 Total Cache if you want.

    Use YSLow add-on for Firefox and see which item (component) is taking up the most time loading
    from there onwards determine is it good to have it there or remove it :)

    U may want to try reducing the number of javascripts loading and plugins on your website. They do reduce your website efficiency :)
