NEW! Google Shows an Extra Title in SERP

Hi there,

I found something new on Google SERP today. Check the picture:



The texts in the red box, have never ever exist in the URL page title. It's added by Google!!

You can check these two pages at http://www.dropshippers.co.za/Skin-Care-Products.html and http://www.dropshippers.co.za/Natural-Skin-Care-Products.html , you can see the original title does not as same as it shown in SERP

So, have you guys see this before? Why google add website name or website domain after the title? Does it(he) think title too short?

 

Haven't seen or experienced this before.

You sure you're just not doing this just for the sake to lure people to your website by "checking the titles". My apologies but I can't help but think that this is just your marketing scheme, your screenshot is linked to your website and has a brand image on the bottom.

 

Nice catch Grimm. If you look, you can clearly see where this dirtbag photoshopped it. He could off spent the time to do it right..I suggest we all give him bad rep

 

Well he could have easily gone away with Firebug! lol. The lines are broken - really obvious marketing strategy which he didn't placed any effort on it.

If you check out the link, the Google results do show exactly as in the picture. It isn't faked. And I've not seen this type of result in SERPs before either.

 

Well, your main title has that "dropshippers -SA" so maybe they are deciding which part of your title tag is relevant now?

 

yes, DropShipper SA is the website name, but on the page, on the <title> tag, it does not have it, never ever has it. So, I only can guess google add it because:
1. Google thinks title too short
2. Google think add domain name or website name for more related result
3. ...

This is really new for me too. It is common seeing two pages at a time for one keyword but two listings for one page is really different thing. Nice find mat.

 

Looks a bit different now from the picture you've showed initially. A change in the process perhaps?

 

It may be happened due to the supplementary result are included by the Google, as I have checked your natural skin care product page, It is not cached in the Google till now and you have shown the cached image of that. another thing the description shown in the image provided by you, have the difference with your original description showing on the page now.

Google never think that your title is too short so I will add more words in your title, coz all the search queries are generated by the software based on your search string from the Google database. So don't think so, it's not a fact.

You have used the canonical url for your original url, so it may be that the Google has been previously indexed your page in the database with it's original url and showing you the results behalf on original dynamic url and getting the other words coming from your dynamic url.

I thik you have to create a fresh xml sitemap and resubmit it in the Google again and you have to verify that from the Google webmaster Tool so it may be with your new fresh indexing your this problem be solved coz Google is not showing such results with other sites.

If you see a snippet there is a link, may be the link is included in description or content and because of that google shows. I might be wrong this is something new for me too.

its really nice move by google and help in seo as well.

 

1. Google will not cache it, never, because I use X-Robots-Tag=noarchive http header on every page
2. The canonical url just what google indexed, and, no dynamic url in any way.
3. I have sitemap http://www.dropshippers.co.za/sitemap.xml very big indeed.

it's a nature search on Google.

First result you will see is:
Acne Skin Treatment and Acne Skin Treatment Guide - DropShippers SA
to this page: http://www.dropshippers.co.za/Acne-Skin-Treatment.html
and if you open the page, you will see <title> is
Acne Skin Treatment and Acne Skin Treatment Guide

so, there is - DropShippers SA extra from the original title, and the original title is like that from beginning of this page exist (I made it, I sure about it)
