Suggestion DP Bump Time Should Be Lowered!

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Serious Workers, Aug 17, 2010.

    Hello Guys,

I am taking about the DP Bump period which is 7 Days for Premium Members and 30 Days for Regular members.

Don't you think it should be lowered as I think it is a long time to wait. Should be something like 3 Days for Premium Members and 15 Days for Regular Members? :)

Looking forward to read from you all.

    Regards,
    Serious Workers

+1 for premiums being able to bump more

I disagree with the regular members every 15 days, because then it would be pointless bumping due to every member doing it.

For those who disagree with me, there are a lot less premium members then regular members.

Ratio of Premium Members to Regular Members
    1:10,000

    (Random guess)

Yes, and also it would increase more members buying Premium membership.

I seconds this, 3 days sounds more reasonable as threads usually get pushed to page 4 by then.

30 days is a little long and if you create another thread you get an infraction so it should be lowered to maybe 10-15 days for normal members and like 3-5 days for premium members.

    Suggestion for regular members:

Each month that you're an active, contributing member, 1 day is subtracted from your bump time, until the user is 15 months old (thus, every 15 days after the user has been a member for 15 months)

It's one of those things where no matter what you set the time to, people are always going to want it to be different. If it was set to 2 months before, people would be complaining saying it should be 1 month. If it was 2 weeks, people would complain saying it should be 1 week, etc. :)

People complaining because lets face it in busy forum 30 days bump period is ridiculously high.

In 6 month I used bump only once but in slower forum and have moved thread from page #2
but in busy forum I'm sure it would be on page #2 in 1 day and in 30 probably on page #30

I think 15 days is very reasonable amount of time and it should be adapted for members benefit

3-5 days for premium members Shawn? It'd me much more appealing for people who want to become premium.

but that would then leave many premium members go bumping-happy :) I don't think it would be okay even if it might increase sales for Shawn.

But, 7 days and 30 days is a long time if you see it like that. A thread would have gone way down and it would effect a lot of people. And I think, it is not a complain it's just a suggestion. And I think all the sellers would be happy in this. :)

Okay.. make it 6 days 23 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds then. :p
Anyway, I also vote for lowing it. Our marketplace is too busy and by 7 days a thread would be like on page 8 pr page 10.

Yeah but how did you come up with the number 7 days? Just pick up some random thread from say the sites forum and see the downward sloping graph of thread views for 7 days. You'll notice that views become close to ZERO from as early as the second day. I (like all the rest) would still say, 3 days is still a lot more reasonable, if that can't be done how about allowing us to buy of other members unused bumps from them when we run out of ours?

    Right, a good suggession.
But, as far as I know, one can bump threads started by himself only.
