    Article directory is a consistent business area,jut make sure you follow strict guidelines while allowing the articles and do use expert advise.A lot of market analysis is required.

    Article Directories need a lot of promotion and then lot of articles to be posted on your site daily. This requires a lot of work.

    Surely its a good idea to start article directory, as many people go for article submission to help their business and gain global visibility, in this respect your web directory will gain quick PR and authority when it contain quality content. All the best :)

    I ran an article directory for a couple of years. I found that I didn't really make very much money using Google Ads. I know someone however who has a similar article directory and now charges people $10 to join before they can post any articles. He doesn't make a whole lot of money with it, maybe $40-$50 a month. But, its a thought.

    Oh, I don't know. Once the site begins receiving articles you can simply "mass accept" them and you are on your way. I have not had much luck in sending out emails to authors though...they seem to have moved on.

    If the key phrases, directory has with hyphens "-" rather than "_" separate underlined. Someone to pure increase keyword and build more additional with a keyword subdirectories, change the directory structure. This is quite unnecessary.

    I think niche article directories are easier to develop than general article directories. Most webmasters will only focus on the biggest article directories, so if you are #153 in the industry, I can't see it being an easy climb to #1, but if you are #1 or #2 in a smaller niche market, you'll probably develop a loyal following faster, and your traffic will be easier to monetize.
