That is spamtastic. If people cant put up with spam, its their problem. People gotta make a living, and this guy is smart how he's doing it.

 

It's stuff like this that makes me glad that none of my forums are built using popular forum software. I wonder whether the forum builders will be at work figuring out mods to block this kind of stuff automatically?

I dunno, I don't think the person who built this is exactly an angel. It's not going to be a positive thing for the internet as a whole.

 

Its pretty easy. Don't let people post links in the first 10 posts. Live or otherwise.

 

I think what this relies on is the idea that some of the 26 000 forums that it can post to are operated by noobs, who don't know about the best methods of moderation and spam prevention.

BTW, once again, that program doesn't get past image verification. He will give you a list of 26,000 and only a fraction of those will work. Don't waste your money.

So if it doesn't get past image verification, a lot of forums don't let you post URLs on a new account, and it doesn't activate the accounts for you... yeah i'll pass

PS: just confirmed, the list is full of forums that aren't even in english. probably the only ones they could find without image verification. so when you start writing in english i guarantee your posts will be gone QUICK

I can't believe the product site is loaded with ads, and popups. How will the guy ever sell the actual product with so many distractions?

 

I can't believe they are actually selling this crap - and they even have a 'Forum Poster Site License' for 900 bucks!!! LOL!!

Anyway, anyone who has a phpBB forum should (actually I'd say MUST!) enable the "image verification" feature: it's very straightforward to do, and there's also a hack [ http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/5338 ] if you want to enable it only for unregistered users.
