    Any reasons why? Is it because of the level of directory at which they exists.

    That's just examples. First link doesn't work, second one works.

    Even if your pages are the same your on page SEO only makes up 10% of your ranking. How you link and other off page seo will make up the other 90%, so those pages will be affected differently.

    It's a simple answer really, no 2 pages on the web are the same. Age is often different and backlinks are always different. Even if you made the same 1,000 profiles going to 2 sites...some would be indexed and others would not.
