Advice to promote a new website

Hi Guys

I left Uni last year and frustrated by the price of travel I set up a website with a friend. It is a car sharing website.

Drivers who are undertaking a journey can advertise available seats, passengers can get in touch and share the price of fuel

Its called www.goCarShare.com

It is integrated through facebook so that you can see your drivers/passengers pictures, interests and even whether you shareany mutual friends.

I would love some feedback on the site if you have time

If you do not put a date in the search you get an error message of

"Alert: You have 1 error

# Search details not found"

Might be better if it said insert date plonker or not accept search highlighting date required etc

Interesting site design, I'd suggest you get some backlinks built for it at the minimum.

 

it may be worth press releases to distribute online maybe even some articles that discuss how sharing a ride is part of going green you can then like to the site in your article resource box. Be sure to pick relevant keywords so the article will be read.

Did U try to advertise in newspapers ?

 

Get working on the free social networks, building profiles on facebook/twitter etc.. and link building will increase traffic.

 

Find related message boards and start partaking in the community. Insert link into your sig line and watch your traffic grow.

 

Do you think traffic will grow a significant amount? I haven't really found putting my link in signatures to be very effective.

 

Signature can be really effective "if" you posted on correct forums (that related to what you wanted to promote), and your signature is catchy enough for other people to check it out.

Also, you say you have done some sort of FB connect, then just make sure your service is really works, invite friends to use your service. If you service is really works then more people will come by word-of-mouth.

Nice website that you have. Keep on conduct marketing for your sites. Try video marketing, it may help.

 

Do some keyword research on your niche. Then hire one of the manual directory submission packages here at DP, like 2000 directories for $20. Hire a different one next month. Write 20 articles and submit them, once only each, to the top 10 article directories.
