Difference between Google Referral and Google Organic

Examining the analytics and wanted to know what the difference is and why only one shows up for referral sites?

 

From my understanding, google organic is just talking about the "organic search results" as opposed to pay per click. all of which would be google referrals. I'm not totally sure, but that is my guess.

 

The referral visitors are coming from other sites where your links are placed. The organic visitors get to your site by entering a search term and seeing your site listed in the organic search results (non PPC)

 

nope cant be because I am not running any ppc campaigns.

 

google organic is from normal google search results where they click to your site.

google referral is from google.com but your site is listed under another site like a directory, local pages, or another website in the SERPS that has a link to yours in the google results.

 

Google Organic results are the normal results, not the sponsored ones.

Google referrals are people who clicked on your page from Google.

i see so if i have a blogsearch showing up when you search for sports or something than it would count as a click from google other?

 

there are some anomalies - I know that google image search shows as a referral rather than as unpaid search - it's just clunky,

 

Google (organic) means u got visits from Google organic search results.
Google (referral) means u got visits from Google sources (other than organic search, gmail or adwords) like Google base listing, or visits from posts on Google groups.

 

Google Organic visitor means. Which visitor come your site by any search engine link Google, yahoo, msn etc, referrals means, Visitor come your web site by any referrals web site like facebook, twitter, myspace, or any social media or book marking web site.

 

google referral is the the traffic that u get by your link that is posted on another sites but organic traffic is the traffic that you get by google search engine.

 

Then the referral site would be the that site where our link present... not the Google (I believe)

I think Google referral is from google image searches... though not sure

 

Google referral result is google.com/image, google.com/blog or may be form google custom search or google.com/webhp or any custom search result. If you get any visits form above source google analytics will show it in Google referring sites.

Google Organic: Google organic is divided into 2 part paid and non-paid visits. (organic and ppc visits)

 

Organic Google Traffic means visits from Google search results (ranking).

Referral Google Traffic means visits comes google other services like product listing etc.

 

The matter is very simple Google analytics gives you the entire results on traffic.
And Google referrals indicates those traffic which came from the other sites not directly from Google search. If u have links of your site placed on other sites and visitors came to your site from that links.

 

I think both the thinks are same but not sure . Google is changing too many things

 

Its explained in Analytics help. There are 2 kinds
Google[referrals]: links from google but not from the organic search nor the CPC. This means, from google blog, googole forum, etc.
Referrrals: the visitor arrived to your site clicking a link on another site (= referral)
