Here on DP and in other forums there are people who offer "10.000 real visitors for $5". How is this possible? Have you used such a service? I posted this in general marketing because I really didn't know where to post it.
There's a word for these services: "scam". If you think it logically. Why would anyone give you 10k visitors for just puny $5? After all, they could direct these visitors to their affiliate offers and shit and generate way more than $5. Or maybe they are just bloody stupid and don't know how to monetize stuff. Anyway... if it was that easy, wouldn't everybody doing the same and purchasing the traffic and have seven gadrillions Real visitors in their sites every month? Keep away from them. They will do you no good.
Yeah, it's a stupid scam. Don't even pay attention to those services.. They most likely have a bot systems in places to make that $5 from you without a sweat. Good thing takes time..
Most likely you won't receive quality traffic in order to sell a product/service or get your ads clicked and I'm sure it won't affect your alexa rank as well.
I agree, I have purchased some high traffic...I see tons of guests on the forum, what I do not see is many signups, and the guests do not seem to leave the home page at all. If traffic is being offered very cheap, then it is bots/ptc trafic, as real quality traffic does cost money.
Even if you receive quality traffic it won't be sustained traffic. If you're trying to build a business you'll want to slowly build your user base and not go for the big bang approach. Using 'offers' like you mention would be like swimming with hungry alligators - you'll get bit or worse!
they just offer pop-ups and pop-unders. these visitors are not targeted traffic at all. If you could somehow make money with this traffic then the person who has access to this traffic wouldn't offer such a low price for 10,000 visitors.
Most of them claim that it is visitors from expired domains and misspelled keywords from search engines. Yet this makes no sense. Most adwords like programs and parking programs ask atleast 2 cent per click, so 10.000 would be a minimum of 200$ now way 5$. So it must be a script that uses bots in combination with a proxy list. I understand that it is never quality traffic. I also understand that sometimes extra traffic can give you extra exposure. The general rule with popularity contents is that if you are in the top XX you will stay in the top XX. I can imagine someone wanting to be in the top 100 of alexa. But I just don't understand the businessmodel behind 10.000 vistors for 5$, unless it is a scam.
Some of the traffic can be iframed into one ptc website and with one visitor to the iframed website, you will get impressions to 10 different websites. I think that is a way people sell extremely cheap traffic. Its mostly to boost up Alexa and to keep the ad buyers on their website happy.
I have read about some people who use this cheap traffic to get their articles/contents to be listed on "most viewed" page. By doing this, they get more exposure for their contents.
