Whooo! Just finished filtering, indexing and archiving my thousands and thousands of Gmail messages. Took me two entire days. So excited I had to post on my favorite forum Anyone else do this with their gmail, or do you also have the typical "Displaying 100 of thousands"?
Well, I also don't like messy mailbox. So, I clean up daily. And I have 0 unread mail as of now in Yahoo and Gmail.
Same here i also don't like messy mailbox so i keep cleaning my emails daily (which are in Inbox) after reading. Feature of making folder help me most to filter my important emails.
I got about 230´000 spam mails. (3 new mails every minute) It would take too long time to clean it up and I don't see any point of it since that mail is only created or suspicious websites.
yeah i use the folders and filters option as well before that it was just too messy cause i had a bunch of subscriptions that i wanted to received but ended up just flodding my inbox so they dont bother me now that theyre filtered.
I prefer to delete the letters I don't need or I'm not interesting it in time in order to prevent my gmail is a kind of dump!
I have a few folders and filters but, for the most part, my inbox is a huge mess. And I really don't mind. It doesn't cause me any problems and I'd be more likely to miss an important message if it went to a filter.
I arquive mails all the time, just leave some that will need attention later on, i'm usually not on 0 messages, but 3 or 4 most of the time.
I have around 7k emails in my Gmail archive, mine are all sorted under certain tags like Receipts, eBay & Paypal, Mailing Lists and a few others. I've been using it for years and I'll never switch, it's FTW! I guess I am 'fastidious', I had to check the dictionary to see what it means hehe.
If I get annoyed by an emailer who sends me too many messages, I basically send them a no holds barred hardcore email ripping them to peices for seemingly no reason. Other than that I have no spam filter. Except gmail's own.
