Thanks, the description tag is definitely useful, but I believe the keywords tag when used properly is a useful tag. Obviously if you use too many or irrelevant keywords it won't do much, but a few relevant and strong keywords aren't that difficult to add to the page.

 

When I go to it this comes up

Yes i agree with you. Meta description tag is really useful for <a href="http://www.articledrunk.com">Article submission</a>.

 

Use of meta tags is always important. Google consider them, there is no doubt

Infact metas are still missing.

@MiletNZ, my site is hosted on mediatemple, I guess one of the other sites in the hosting network was a malicious site. My sites clean however and you can check the google safety report for proof.

@Seo4me, if you used proper content, proper meta tags, and a proper title, you could probably be first. So yes I think they are important, however I also think backlinks are THE most important.
