That's really an odd thing to do, using blog content for a forum post? Not the best but using free memberships on traffic exchanges can bring some traffic. Not usually many buyers except if your product is exceptional and well written. But people do click the links if traffic is your main interest.
Commenting on other blogs is probably one othe best ways for creating good backlinks, some won't get approved, so its a numbers game, all it takes is one good site to give you a backlink, spend an hour each day commenting, by the end of Friday you will have lots of good backlinks to your site Coolmoss!

The bottom line to getting traffic to your website or blog is you have to do some work. I see so many people ask questions about how quickly can they get on the first page of the search engine and how can they get more traffic. No matter what anyone tells you, it takes time and work to get a good flow of traffic. You also, got to tell the world about your site. Just because you build it doesn't mean they will come.
