Infractions

I got 2 infractions a month back which kept me away from the forums, (though even one would have been enough) I tried tweeting DP about it but didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the responses. I just let it be at that time assuming Shawn was way too busy with Federal indictments, banned adsense accounts, new advertising system and all to bother about two silly infractions which kept a paying member away from the forums. I'm not looking for compensation of any sought but since I'm back again and still have 9 running infractions, I realize the mod(s) holding a vendetta against me wouldn't need to do much to ban me again. Therefore I'm looking forward to having the two ridiculous infractions reversed or atleast explained.

I have received an infraction for this post (now deleted) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1570621&p=14577713#post14577713

    Reason: Duplicate thread.

But I'm 200% sure that I have never made a duplicate thread. The said thread was merged with http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1570621 which is totally unrelated. Infact I added this notice *Note: This is unrelated to the Blackhat Adsense Sites I Sell.* twice in the thread (once in BIG read font at the top).

Please reverse this infraction and de-merge the thread.

    Second:

    Reason: Inappropriate / Disallowed Post
    -------
    thread redirection
    -------
    Original Post:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1570621&p=14582663#post14582663

So I made a sale and when more people were expressing interest I closed the thread and asked them to have a look at another one of my threads. Whats wrong with that?

Where is it in the FAQ/Rules/stickies that you can't do that?

I tried to use common sense but it still strikes me as totally appropriate. When you buy stuff from any online stores most of them suggest other stuff before you checkout even DP does this in various forms. So what is wrong if I suggest another one of MY offerings to MY prospective customers on MY thread AFTER closing the ongoing sale, when it is not even vaguely disallowed by the rules at this place?

The problem is you then end up with people spamming the forum with new threads or posts doing nothing but pointing them to a different thread. It used to be a huge problem here until we made rules about it.

Sure but where is the rule?

The only thing I can find in the FAQ is

It was just a post on my own thread, did no harm but even if it was objectionable - 2 infractions? For the same offence?

I think its pretty easy to differentiate between who is spamming to redirect traffic and someone who is doing it legitimately.

It's not possible (from a technical standpoint) to get two infractions for a single post.

I know, I said same offence not same post. If both the infractions weren't for the same thing how do you explain this: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1570621 and this: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1570621&p=14577713#post14577713 (deleted) to be duplicate of each other?

I believe this "do not create threads that refer to other threads you have created. Use your signature to draw attention to your older threads. These threads will be considered duplicate threads" has been used to give me two infractions both for the post and the entire thread? So doesn't that make it for the same offence?

@MyVoda - Don't post here unless you actually understand what is going on and what they are discussing.

Agreed. I think this is a lesson that would be of benefit to quite a few DP'ers.

No, you weren't. So a -rep has been applied, enjoy.

Okay, it seems you know too much of rules. Then, here you go:

You should get one this as because it is considered as "Inappropriate Language".

    Second one:
This isn't allowed at all, so one for this thing.

First learn the rules on yourself then come to suggest and *fight* here.

But the problem is what to do when you get banned without breaking ( knowingly or unknowingly ) the rules ? This is the quest.
I support Helvetti, she must get her infractions removed if not found guilty of breaking the rules. On the other hand, if she really broken the rules, and still is arguing about it, I agree that she should be awarded more infractions.

    :)

    1) Re: "if not found guilty"
There isnt a DP Supreme Court sitting around solemnly deliberating guilt or innocence... it's basically a mod call. If somebody thinks an error happened, best bet is to either live with it or take the question to a mod they trust via PM and see if they will check it out. As a general practice the admins don't appear to second guess judgment calls, but have reversed infractions where an obvious error occurred.

2)RE: I support Helvetti, she must get...
OK, support her, just dont ask her on a date. She's a he. :)

    lol :D

And there you go, asking for a +rep on your signature LOL You really need to grow up. Have you actually read all posts before yours? Shawn wouldn't have replied here if this was just another infraction-bullocks-complaint-thread.

I'll un-subscribe from this thread now... but I will from time to time reflect back on it and remember how BlackHat selling scum-bags stick together.

...and just for the record my sig is not in any violation of any digitalpoint forum rule. Read it, understand it, then comment on it.

That's why you've got a signature ban, because it's not in any violation right? LOL
