Komodo Edit or Notepad++ have my vote.

    Dreamweaver is overpriced and overrated.

I love notepad++ as my go-to text editor, but I find I need some project-management type features when I'm in project mode. Like, I'm talking the ability to open a project and add files to it, and see a tree on the side. If it had that it would be perfect.

I haven't been able to find anything like that that feels right, so I usually just go with Eclipse. But damn, it's got a large memory footprint, and it seems like overkill when I'm working with PHP.

I have seen some of the best sites are designed with dreamweaver. Can you build a website through nvu.com at par the designs and looks achieved by dreamweaver?

    - If you're not looking necessarily for something as advanced, but basically the same program, try out NVU.
    - If you're looking to code with speed, visibility, and simplicity, use Notepad++.

    Just my opinions.

The best WYSIWYG editor that I've found is Komposer. Its a free linux based html editor with a pretty simple interface.

I like Notepad ++ but I haven't used anything else (besides notepad at the very beginning). I've thought about buying Adobe CS5 as a student for like $400 but not sure it's worth it. Is it?0
