Keywords importance ??

hey recently i read that now a days search engine like google and yahoo not giving too much importance to keyword tag witch we use in head.

is that right??

 

Nobody knows what is right for sure, but common sense tells us that keywords will always be important - wherever you put them ;-)

Google gives no importance to it, why? because people simply abuse it and WILL just stuff ALL possible keywords they could think of? Imagine if Google DID considered meta keywords and ALL keywords that has been put inside? We'd ALL BE spamming it with KEYWORDS. Google hates spamming.

Bottomline: Google just doesn't give a poop about it WHILE other search engines might do give a little itsy bitsy bit of importance to it.

Keywords in context are becoming more and more important - its something that will probably become even more important over time as Google gets ever cleverer

 

Google doesn't give importance to the keyword tag any more. As there has been an exponential inflation in the number of spammers who used the keyword tag to influence/manipulate the search results. Rather than the keyword tag, its better to concentrate on the content of the site and have a good description tag in sync with the page content. It might be of good benefit.

The origin of all search engine rankings is keywords. Yes, search engines use all types of technology that is further than the average person's knowledge...but it all comes down to words.
Search engine users go into keyword phrases into a search engine to get the information they need.

According to my experience keywords are important factor we show our business through the keywords so we can not ignore keywords and we can not say that keywords are not important.

 

When in comes to achieving top search engine rankings how large of a role do keyword tags actually play?

 

Nobody knows but it's better to concentrate on basis that gives high value to your site like page title, content, meta description, backlinks and etc.

 

yaa right if you don't put keyword in header, footer or in body so how can understand search engine which services you given and in which service you want ranking.

 

The best way I have found is by networking through forums such as Blog Catalog and by leaving comments on other people's blogs.

 

The meta keywords declaration has been and still the ground for keyword stuffers that is why search engines are discounting their value (at least for those sites that have been observed doing such.)
