UPDATE: Today my site is sitting on the 3rd rank (5 -> 3, nice). The ehow and one other site is below my site now. I guess, link building will show its effects in long term and that's exactly what is going on.

So, what I did in the last few days?

I added some more blog comments and left some backlinks on some squidoo lenses. Note that I simply do not spam, I read or skim the post/page and try to contribute to the topic, even sometimes I do research just to make a simple comment. It takes more time but it is healthier in terms of link building.

Thanks Nicole, after checking my competitors I added some variety to my backlinks. By the way, I meant that one of the competitors were a youtube video and an ehow article. They are not on my site.

Now I started another site in a more competitive niche and I will follow a similar SEO strategy and see how it will perform. I will keep this thread updated.

Time is only a factor using off page optimization. If you do correct on page changes the results are normally visible almost instantly now-a-days (at least if you have a site which is spidered frequently).

I have the same issue. I studied my competitors, they don't have as much contents as my site does, so I believe they might have better backlinks.

Definitely check out the link profiles of the 4 competing sites, find out where your link profile differs from theirs... it may be that they have more authority backlinks.

After doing this you will also want to find out how many internal links they have pointing back to that page, the anchor text and PageRank for each... see if you can add some more internal links to your page from your site. Although sometimes it's good to save this as a final "push" to get to the top once you've maxed out your link building strategy (IE spent too much time on it)

I would say that you could concentrate a little more with on page optimization. If you write an article for the directories, put it on your site. Preferably your home page. You could set up an rss feed from ezine articles for your posts. Have a simple rss feed at the bottom of your page including about a third of your articles. I have found on one of my sites that adding fresh unique content to the home page can get me indexed on a daily bases. The more frequent you update your content the more google will come back.

Also make sure that your keyword is in your header tags and scattered through your content. I'm sure you already know but the first and last thing a google spider will look for is your keyword, so put it in your title tag and have your keyword the last piece of text on your page.

A general rule thumb that I use is keyword in title, meta tag, headers, at least twice in the first paragraph, maybe 2 or 3 times throughout the article and make sure its in the last paragraph and finally include it right at the bottom of the page. If you have pic try and include it in the alt tags.

I hope this helps and good luck!

than get backlink from thrusted site like
my site in 2 weeks get 400-500/day visitor with that.

    wish help you

Links... Links... Links... Blog commenting isn't going to do much of anything for you. Seek out sites where you can be a guest blogger, and make a post there every week or two. I don't know what niche you site is in, but there is likely lots of places that you could look for links that you haven't even thought of. What you really need are authoritative links, but those are only given if you have really high quality content for the authoritative sites to link to.

I would suggest that you spend some time reading Eric Wards posts and articles. He's been building links for 15 years... and is called "Link Moses" for a reason. Here is a link to a page that has links to lots of his posts over the years. They don't give away his "secret sauce" but they DO give you some insight into how he thinks about link building. It will make you think outside the box... guaranteed.

Creating more relevant and quality back links for particular keyword will help you to get first page, Meanwhile you need to make a little research on your competitors and their works to focus that keywords.

To get a #1 rank, check competitor's backlink and try to get backlink from that sites. Continue your backlink work. check the competitor sites age. As domain age also effect the ranking.

    Build LINKs LINKs LINKS.

Buy them, write articles, hire people, do 3 way exchanges, do bookmarks, directories, etc.

The game is all about links. Dont get too caught up in "build content" and links will come. I've written over 100 page of content, spending a LOT of time in research, and writing. The content was WELL researched, better than any competition, links never came.

If you do go down the "content" route then the formula is create content > PROMOTE THE CRAP OUT OF it.

Or just build links, dont need much content if you got links.

UPDATE 2 Today I am again at #5 dropped from #3. I don't know the reason but I will continue my backlink campaign. One thing to note is that competitors are not building any backlinks but they remain where they are. I will study this in depth...what makes them keep their rankings?
