if everyone here thinks its a bad domain then perhaps you should sell, this might be your only chance. also try the domain appraisal forum here in DP where ull get more input from ppl as well
Actually it is interesting that if you do a search for S-E-O that google returns results exactly the same as if you had typed SEO. It is possible that their algorithms work in reverse too, and that dashes are removed from domains and other text, in which case you may be able to get a good price for it. I'm sure most of the comments above are opinion as opposed to knowledge - be interested to hear from anyone that actually *knows* or can demonstrate that S-E-O isnt the same as SEO...
Problem is that it doesnt show that google treats S-E-O as SEO in a domain name. Now if you did a search for SEO and www.S-E-O.co.uk was returned then he'd know he was onto a winner. As the site doesnt have anything on it currently then we can't test that..
true sad thing is, we'll never know, because the auction ends in less than 2 days so there's no time for me put that stuff there and wait for it to get spidered and appear in the index
this is actually a very good point, and I rarely say I'm wrong and apologize, and especially so on DP however, in this case, I think I was, and should have checked before making jokes, because I think Google actually does count the letters with hyphens the same as the word itself. ie searches we're number one at, are the same whether you use "SEO" or "S-E-O" examples.. 1. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=business+seo&pws=0&hl=en&num=10 2. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=business+s-e-o&pws=0&hl=en&num=10 1. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=+seo+design+services&pws=0&hl=en&num=10 2. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=+s-e-o+design+services&pws=0&hl=en&num=10 good luck with the auction.
I think you got my point... you have the domain which may be treated as SEO and for support the person can make effective title and metas, upload related content on the page with off page work, this would definitely help in getting good rankings for the keyword SEO.
so would a domain for example howto-build.co.uk show up well in google for the keyword "how to build" or would the dash affect that.
howto on its own is a keyword, i often seach for "blablabla howto" by the way, the auction finishes in 20 minutes!
