When taking a manual directory submission service, what's the approx percentage of links the one should expect? For example, if you were going to take a bulk submission of 500 directories, how many links should you expect from from this?

you pay for 500 directory submission, then you can except for 500 submission. If the submitted site or text is not original or quality, do not expect really much.

If you pay for 500 accepted links, then you can expect 500 links from directories. Its still not sure that the link will be indexed.

You can except what you have contracted the freelancer :)

    Cheers,

You will get 500 backlinks but only 10 or less of them will count for something.

Totally depends upon who you hire, if they do submissions correctly and if they only submit to niche sites that actually match yours.

Its better that you 'test' your submission in small packages with various companies and types to understand what works for you and what doesn't.

Its really hard to say, but the key is to do it regularly and be consistent in submissions with variant site details for the listings.

    Really?

Nice. I just submitted your site to 500. Looks like you are going to the bottom of the internet.

    Great idea.

So that's all it takes to mess with someone's site.

Where do you guys come up with these hair brained suggestions?

Thanks everybody! I realize, the expected acceptance rate should be anywhere between 60-80%.

I think you've set your expectations way too high. I think you'd be lucky to get 30-40% if that high, might be worth it to ask what the acceptance rate is before using any service.
