    Just one year ago, we had two major PR updates in June and everybody was wondering whether Google was going to update PR monthly. It didn't happen and the next PR update occured in November after a period of 4 months.

    I'm not sure whether Google would even dare try to totally eliminate PR.lol At least not anytime soon. Its one of their bright inventions to make google still ahead of other search engines. And PR is one of the reasons why a lot of people even download and use the google toolbar. Anyway, whether PR is useful or not, most of the time it really depends on what you want to achieve with your own site. =) As for other search engines, so far, only Google provides a ranking reputation like PR.

    The longer the wait, the more scary it is for those who depend on PageRank for income. As it is, the changes are going to be much more pronounced anyway because of the time that had elapsed. Also, there must be a suspicion that Google is tinkering with its PR algorithm.
