Hi, My site www.learningsteps.com is listed on the second page of google.com for the keywords - (computer training). I would like to get to the first page - i have tried everything - improved quality backlinks etc - Articles - Forum posting. - content etc, etc, etc My questions is can anyone spot some on page optimization that might help, am i beign penalized for something. please help. thanks and kind regards Fergal.
Fergal, how much your website is old, and it's good that you are getting results on 2nd page, Still you need to place the keyword computer training in your content, and use this keyword wisely in content, As well as keep building links. You will get good results.
You have to continue to build back links - directory listing and the normal work, remember that sites that show up on page 1 may have more back links and better serps' ... - your home page has a spelling error for Web Diretory - please correct it as well. Thx
i have studied your website, it is good one and having pr5. i have studied keyword competition which 43.3 million. You need to do quality posting for quality back links. I would suggest you to hire SEO expert, who can help you to get better rank for niche keywords.
i see most of my competitors are listed in yahoo, do you think this would majorly improve my serps. or in your opinion what other other authority sites would be better. I am already listed in DMOZ. Regards Fergal.

tenacity will get you there. Ive spent over 1 year to get to top 5 position on one of my sites. Its all down to backlinks.
Backlinks is not the only factor to get rankings in SE. Do you best On-Page according to Google. Optimize your content with proper techniques. Relevancy is the factor when creating the backlinks.
