after searching on google and some other forums, i found that if you have a short url and having your post main keywords in that, it should bring better result rather then a long url, because people don't search the whole post title or a big search, they always search maximum 4 or 5 words, not the 12-15 words, if you have good keywords and having your main keywords in your post and it have a short url having your post main keywords in it, it gives more better result rather then a long url!!!!

I think that in terms of exact match a shot domain name is a big advantage if thats what you are after otherwise I would say no unless its just silly. I wouldt know where to put the cut off point for silly though

If someone is using 60... even 40... words in the title of their blog post then they have "serious" issues and should probably find a new career! Why on earth would someone need a title that long? I mean think about it... Would you buy a book with a 60 word title? 60 words is often an entire paragraph of text.

If they don't penalize 60 word post titles... they certainly should... The ONLY people using 60 words in post titles are SPAM artists trying to somehow game the search engines. It looks like total spam... is not good for the user. I would not blame Google or other engines at all for frowning on such tactics.

    Hi,

In my own experiences, Google or other engines would have no problem in dealing with long urls if only they are necessary and reasonable. Also, including our targeted keywords in our urls would usually make urls longer but this is a positive job for SEO purpose.

    all the best,

CMS like wordpress will cut down on url variables to shorten the url. They also have an url rewrite to format your url according to your content, so I would think it helps for SEO purposes.

"and, we, which, such" are not special characters are just very common search words.

Google seems to ignore short terms like for, and, or, etc.

They do highlight only those, but it seems the small "filling words" do sometimes count i.e. influence your results.
