What is the Most Compelling Copywriting Headline You've Ever Seen?

Discussion in 'Copywriting' started by MarkAndrews IMCopywriting, May 14, 2010.

The main headline is perhaps the critically important element of any sales copy.

Get it right and your sales will soar.

Get it wrong and your conversions will tumble into oblivion.

What is the most compelling copywriting headline you've ever ever seen either online or offline?

Please copy and paste the headline below and give credit to the copywriter if you know who wrote it.

    Best,

    Mark Andrews - Copywriter

Mark I love challenges, but in the area of sales copy you are the wizard. Give us a chance.

Even the game Hang Man gives a couple clues. This is not as easy as the wheel of fortune. It could range from containing the words "you" and "benefit" to a P.T. Barnum Circus Billboard. (which I am sure are both wrong)

How about providing a couple "B" grade examples, and tell us if we can even come close to those. Copywriting Sales Copy requires a unique level of blending various skills. That is why in that area you get the big bucks. So some hints please.

    "We also make steel..."

This is the headline of the `Tata' group of industries that manufactures thousands of other products, with `steel' being their forte.

"The world's best brownie recipe ever"

I was so compelled, I followed the recipe. And it was awesome. :)

I don't have the best headline, I only have the last headline that impressed me.

    Check this out.

@jacky8 I absolutely love that headline.

The body copy following that headline can probably talk about how you could string together sentences which are ridden with oddities, errors, and awkwardness, but still claim to be an expensive writer :D

    Thanks Jacky

I actually have plenty of samples which are readily available, if anyone wishes to see them if they are interested in my copywriting services (not timewasters.)

Same goes for testimonials, I do not personally use any of them on my own copywriting websites - not a course of action I would recommend to other people marketing their products online.

I do this because for myself...I believe my copywriting must stand up on it's own merit and not be dependent upon the 'say so' of other people giving me the thumbs up.

For this reason, I generally keep my testimonials private.

    Best,

    Mark Andrews...

    Good point Mark

Quality has its way of getting known. Now you know I write a lot of articles that blogs pick up. SEO in its purist meaning, means free organic search traffic. A blog has just picked up this post on "compelling copywriter headline", because of your unintended SEO.

I or InetSEO can show anyone how easy this temporary measure can get you top internet attention. So yes it is the headline, but on the internet the headline and sub-header (or first line for essential key words)

You are temporarily #1 on Google for searches for compelling copywriting headline, because of a blog pickup. xblurb.com/what-is-the-most-compelling-copywriting-headline-youve-ever-seen.html is the blog address. Congratulations.

The blog post you are talking about doesn't even have a direct link to this thread. It is just a useless DP scraper blog.

If that is what you call "top internet attention", I am simply S.H.O.C.K.E.D to hear that!

Why are you shocked, should you scrape off other people?

The blog gives Mark Andrews recognition. Now if they are looking for good copywriting, and a professional that knows how to write effective headlines, it is simple.

They go to Google: Mark Andrews

I sure he will be listed numerous times. That is the point he made about people recognizing him for his talents. One extra client, is sometimes very worthwhile. If not he could refer it to you.

--------------yours may be just as good or better---- but do not expect a free ride----- if you are not ashamed of Google response for your name (which I am sure you are not), do the same---otherwise just ignore the post and let someone get credit where credit is due------ it is so easy to be negative, much harder to give praise---------------------------------------

I mean no offense but getting the attention of an automated scraper blog can't give you "top internet attention".

There is far too much arguing over simple word usage online, he said, she said, Tom, Dick and Harry said - it's all good.

I received another memtion online, scraper blog, real blog, website, this, that and the other - it all works, one or another is not the be all and end all - we're all just a part of a process, another cog in a much bigger community wheel.

    Just be and enjoy yourselves.

    Best,
