    hello.

For one of my websites filled with a good amount of content, i was getting a nice amount of search engine traffic. Now the last two days out of nowhere im not even on the first few pages for the same search terms. I used to rank well for the main keywords and always first or second for individual keywords from each article. What happened and what can I do? Please help. Thanks.

    Hello Tomsign.

Unfortunately it is difficult to answer your questions without specific information.

However, the first question you should ask yourself is have you made any changes? Seemingly insignificant changes can have dramatic impact on SERPs.

After that issue has been cleared, you can begin by reviewing your tracking statistics. Have your backlinks changed? Have your competitors made changes? Do you employ gray tactics?

This is precisely the reason quality statistics are so useful on any significant web property. They allow you to identify the cause of changes quickly and easily. You can then go on to address those causes specifically. Without this, you're almost guessing.

The ranking on Google is designed to drop to give way for new sites.

If you want your site to remain on top of search results, then you should be doing link building.

If you fail to do link building and blame search engine to drop you site down, then I guess you are still way too far from learning this business.

Build your backlinks using the keyword anchored that got your site ranked higher which is dofollow and from high quality pages and relevant and watch your site goes up again.

May be the ranking might have dropped because you might have stopped the link building process... Seo is a continuous process so need to work continuously to rank good from your competitors.....

Yes, keep working on your site each month, or week if it's new. Google needs to see your site is for real, so posting new content frequently will help, as well as building backlinks into your site. Deeplinking is very helpful.

The google dance can be very frustrating, but if you work at it, google will begin to trust your site and it will stick before long.

Are you continuously working on building backlinks etc? SEO is a non stop process, otherwise your competitors will get ahead of you and your rankings will fall.

That's what he should do indeed
I guess it's just the google dance as well. I have it frequently that new sites are popping up, just to drop a bit later stabilizing on a later stage.
