Cost-per-click varies in different keywords. Choose the niche that pays well.

What's your niche? If I were you, I'll focus to niches that pay good amount of $$$. Since your ad placements is ok, try to improve your content and targeted keywords.

My advice: products that are expensive offline are expensive online as well.

Don't worry, it will be back to normal in a couple of days. Happen to me all the time. It could be because your serp is shifting and Big G need more trust from your before sending you high cpc ads.

There are many known niches that have high CPC. Usually niche like insurance, travel, mortgage, etc. Here a list http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/internet/top-paying-words.htm.

Or you can go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal , type in a keyword, click on option and select display of CPC. It gives you an idea how much advertiser are bidding on that keywords. The general thumb of rule is if the bid is a round $2 that is a reasonably good niche to work on.

    Hope it helps

Yes you are more or less on the right path. But bear in mind Big G don't pay you $1 a click. You get much lesser then that.

Let your site aged a bit, usually after awhile your CTR and ecpm will get more stable and you start to see higher paying ads allocate to you.
