    I have used Facebook's CPC for many of my clients with very targeted ad's for gamers of turn based games with a 25-35% sign up rate and 65% return rate at a cost of about $0.55 per registered sign up.

    after copy paste systems was released and marketers started exploiting my "secret" source of income..profits have been low for me ever since....i was forced to shut down campains which used to get me $300+ a week...it did have a LOT of potential..

    I've had some success with FB ads. It's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be but you have to think about who you're marketing to when it comes to Facebook. Take into account the demographics of Facebook (do a Google search, you'll find it) and then pick a product/service/offer that is attractive to those demographics.

    And don't just rely on FB ads... use fan pages, groups, etc to really make a stir and get some serious traffic.

    Some wise comments found here. FB is a different beast and I wouldn't put it in the same league as other PPC avenues. One very switched on forum member said it all with, "People on FB are not in search mode" they are just surfing chatting with friends etc.

    The power of true PPC ads (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc) is that your prospects are pre-qualified. They have sat at their computers and specifically typed in the very search query that your ad is displaying for. I know that you can target fb users through profile info and demographics etc, but thats not even close to somebody searching at the exact moment themselves for your search term.

    My $$$'s/£££'s would always be invested first in Google PPC, then Yahoo PPC, then Bing PPC and only if I was successful in all these areas would I venture out to FB in the knowledge that what I was doing before will not work on fb so a whole new approach is required.

    I took a look as you said. Concentrating on the age group 35 to 54 may help with conversions? It has the most growth and maybe more apt to click and buy yes?

    I think the best way to use Facebook is to start a page similar to what you are doing then buy the fans from eBay (100 fans = £3, then gets cheaper in bulk).

    A good idea would be to set up a fan page for it or a funny page that would spread like wildfire that would attract the type of people you want to advertise to in the posts.

    Example:
    "Why does a months wages only last 3 weeks" - That would be good to advertise payday loans to

    i had some ads run on facebook for my forum/site. it was nice being able to target a region and a certain keyword. I got much more traffic and registrations advertising through facebook than through google.
