You can easily get a wordpress blog set up and have your product put up on it within minutes. Blogs are really user friendly- anyone can use them, set them up, modify them, include various plugins.

Also blogs and wordpress themes are SEO friendly. They come set up ready to please the search engines for traffic.

Your question really shouldn't be 'blog/website'?

It should be more like what approach you want to take to advertise your product. Do you want in first person? If so you can write in a way where it seems very personable then blogging would be more accurate.

Or if you just want mass appeal or something just make a website with very flashy pictures and promises or results.

    Hope that inspires some ideas.

Google seems to like Wordpress, and Google also likes updated content. Its easier to update a blog than a static website, and as has been mentioned before here, you can make your Wordpress site look like a website so Wordpress would be my choice.

Go with wordpress. I personally would feel safer and a sense of trust buying from a site that is updated daily by the seller.

Try to buy a domain that has some age to it also. Google finds it more credible and you end up getting indexed quicker.

why don't you combine the benefits of both. Add a blog section to your website, by this way you can keep your site updated with fresh contents, as you would be posting fresh contents at your blog. you can use both the website and blog section for promotion, though you cannot promote your service directly through blog section, but you can indirectly promote your services.

Wordpress is probably the best way to go. It is a multipurpose software if you ask me.
