Protecting an eBook

A lot of DP members that have bought my ebook are informing me that people are contacting them, and asking if they will sell my ebook for cheaper, or give it to them for free.

The ebook i'm having a problem with, is here.

Is there any sort of protection we can enable with PDF's to make it harder to pirate/redistribute? Has anyone else been having these problems? What are your techniques of avoiding this?

You can enable password protection from pdf and when you sell it you give him the password for that book and the content cannot be copied.

I heard there was something that you could do to make it only readable on that computer. Is it true?

no.. if they are determined, they will copy it... the trick is to be alert.. constantly searching internet.. and if you find illegal copies.. send the host a DMCA takedown notice

It's pretty hard to search for a generic title, with so many results... Next time I'll differentiate the name and make it stand out.

    Thanks!

mate, have you considered invessting in an ebook compiler? Prevents duplication, copying and some of them, has tracking features (though if you ask me, that's a little excessive)

Do you know the names of any compilers? It might be worth trying out.

    thank you.

personally, the ebook creator doesn't look too bad. it's only $20, plus you get to try out the trial version first before buying.

    cheers
