Why don't you just build free links on forums, blogs etc?...

 

I don't really know, but many of webmasters do it and their sites are on the top safely..
I just think build free links on forums or blogs really time consuming and the result isn't really good. I already tried this for years, and I got nothing..

I guess it's not specifically against the terms of service, but they just don't like it.

Also, I think for the money I spent buying links - and let's be honest, if everyone could get great rankings with simply buying links, we'd all be doing it - I could pay someone to create a few quality backlinks using free methods.

 

I have personally experienced favorable PR updates through links on higher PR sites than the page I'm submitting.
Absolutely, doing sensible SEO is also a part of the process.
Your own page content should be changing and updating often as well.

 

My answer would be, there is never a good place to buy links, especially if you're hoping for them to impact SERP or PR. Buying links that pass page rank etc is specifically against Google's terms of services.

Now buying an advertising link on a website that has a high number of visitors and is reputable, for example an online newspaper, could benefit your business.

I would recommend not buying any links for the purposes of manipulating search results.

 

Buying links for PR or SERP increase is against Google's TOS. If you still plan to buy them, be discreet about it

the only link seller I've ever found with decent quality links is teliad, but as if google doesn't know about these link selling sites, I wouldn't ever buy links from a broker site if I could avoid it.

Best bet is to use forums or go to the site owners directly if you aren't already networked with relevant link traders

I worked at an seo firm in the past where the boss insisted on links being bought from backlinks and such, needless to say over the last year their clients rankings plumeted drastically.

People are dude! top ten in the major verticals all tons of paid links big main example Money Supermarket spend MILLIONS a year on paid link works as when you up there you get lots of natural links as well.

I know people are doing it, but does it really make that much difference? I mean, are the paid links people are buying making the difference between say a top 3 or 10-15 ranking? And with Google trying to crack down on it, the positive effects may decline over time.

Personally, I won't be doing it until I see some clear evidence that it works and Google will continue to support it.

 

Interesting to hear about your SEO firm. I suspected this could be the case. Clearly Google doesn't like it so even if you get away with it for a while, you will eventually get figured out.

buying link is so easy, but you have to choose the niche of yours. Be careful of spams.

 

Buying links is not always the best way - You could spend a large or small proportion of your budget on it and see very little returns, or worse, negative returns because they are seen to be spam associated.

It will not be long before something is done about all this huge directories that spring up with the sole purpose of collecting online marketers money in return for some spammy backlinks

So if you are going to do it, make sure its not a generic site - spend some time to look for a relevant one for you, and see if any competition is their too

 

Look. Paid links work. There are many top ranked sites in competitive niches using them. I have used them and believe me they work a treat. You have to do your homework on the site you are getting the link from though.

It is against Google's guidelines but with a lot of industries they are so competitive there is no other option. It does depend on your industry. In an ideal world we create link bait and people link to it and share etc. But we don't live in an ideal world. If you can't get creative, you better get your hand in your pocket, otherwise your dead and buried.

It can be almost impossible for Google to spot a paid link if done correctly. Besides, who says you can't buy links. Google? It's your right to promote your site how you want. If google think a site is selling links in order to manipulate the SERPS then it's up to Google to penalize the site owner, not the advertiser.
