Converting a website into Blog - BEST WAY and with WHO?

    hi guys

    I am well versed in website developement but never made a Blog. I have a personal website which i think would be better in blog format. (i have adsense on it)

    What blogging platform do you suggest? i have the URL.

    you should try Wordpress, which is the best option for blog sites. But if you want other options try Drupal or Joomla.

    Yes, Wordpress can be installed on the root domain, on a subfolder, or a subdomain. Entirely your choice.

    So i can create my subdomain in godaddy NO PROB! but do i still need to go to WORDPRESS.com and signup? do i need a full account or just a username?

    I recommend, self-hosted wordpress. I wouldn't suggest a subdomain. Because google search engine will take this as a seperate domain. Since you already have a certain amount of visitors and improve your SEO with keywords in your blog, it would be better if you either have yourdomain.com/blog or as you wanted to convert the site totally into a blog then - yourdomain.com. AND you can visit wordpress.org, get the wordpress 3.0 and installation instructions are provided on the site. It'll give all the info on it.
    godaddy and hostgator, both are great. I personally like hostgator cause of its ease for signing up.

    I'm under the impression that Godaddy uses non-standard hosting... so I wouldn't recommend them - they're great for domain names though...

    Definitely self-host your blog. You'll have far more flexibility and power with self-hosting rather than going with Wordpress.com.
