I have coded my site using normal coding languages and I would like to use a Wordpress plugin. I've read some Wordpress articles and books and it seems that Wordpress uses its own language with preset commands. I also found some plugins which would let me run PHP code on my Wordpress page. Before I migrate to Wordpress I have these questions. 1. Can I use my html editor with Wordpress (Dreamweaver 8 using just the basic text/code editting part) 2. Can I use the Wordpress plugins to migrate my page from normal coding to Wordpress coding without having to change my existing code. (I would only have to code new Wordpress execute/include html, php, javascript code) 3. Is Wordpress free? I read that Wordpress is free, but it also says in a following paragraph that if I want to use CSS style sheets I would have to pay a fee. Does this mean that execute/include php, javascript, flash, html files plugins would also increase the cost of Wordpress? Thank you.
He's talking about Wordpress.com there. On Wordpress.com you will have to pay to edit the CSS but on a self-hosted version of Wordpress you can do what you like =]
Oh ! Well on Worpdress.com the only thing you can do is pay to edit the CSS...all the other stuff that you asked about..Flash, Java, PHP, I don't think you can do any of it except for the occasional You Tube video. Sorry.
If I self host Wordpress I can use html, javascript, flash, php, and css? And it's still free right? This is one of my pages. Would it be easy to transfer to a Wordpress page? http://www.foreverplaying.com/script/games/game_13_days_in_hell.php
Yes. Self hosted WP is also free to download and use. I don't see why not. You can do pretty much anything you want.
