    Is a logo must for any site? What if logo is not preferred. Logos require a lot of thinking. A good logo is of course a boon to anybody.

    even a text logo is fine though. type out your words in photoshop and add shadow effects. or there are free apps on the internet to make them.

    I think text logo is a good idea. Shadow effects would do I suppose instead of going for a company type of logo.

    Short answer: No;
    Long answer: No. You don't need a logo for every site.

    If you have a business, then yes, you need branding, which includes a logo and other promotion related materials.

    I would say that a memorable look and feel to the site will often be enough. A distinctive 'brand' need not necessarily incorporate a logo as such but may make good use of colour, type and layout. Indeed, a 'logo' on it's own will probably not be as effective as an overall branding.

    That said, it may well be a whole lot quicker to just come up with your logo.

    It's not that hard to make good logos. Keep them simple. Sometimes logos don't come out right because we tend to add to much stuff to them.

    Here is a tip. Buy a pay font instead of a freeware font. Premium fonts wont make your logo look like hundreds of other logos online using the same "cool" font.
