Formula for optimizing content pages

Does anyone have a good formula for optimizing your content pages?

How many keyphrases is it best to target on a page?

How many times should each keyphrase be put in the page?
(if your targetting one keyphrase you can have this in the URL and the H1 heading easily but how many times in the body, if theres more than one keyphrase being targetted then you may not be able to have more than one in the url and heading, any way around that?)

Any other tips to optimizing a page?

you be the JUDGE of seo optimized contents ---- do a search on niche? what site ranks high 4 your niche? you need to try and put many word keyword rich in the top center and end of all your content page articles... and SEO PAGES ONSITE ... THATs right .... ON-SITE PAGE SEO ......... got it???? DON'T WORRY ABOUT how many.... target your market.... and use triple phrase keywords .......

 

I try to use my exact key phrase in:

the url
the title
first paragraph of the post
last paragraph of the post
once or twice in the middle of the post

I also use variations of the key phrase throughout a post, which also helps, both in terms of exact and broad matching key phrase searches.

Also, make sure that if you are using images within an article / post, tag them with your exact key phrase.

Do you stick to one keyphrase per page? This is for an ecommerce site if that makes any difference

 

The best practice of using keyword phrases within content is not more than 2-3 times in a page. As keyword density is old time stories (for Google it ended in 2009); now according to Matt Cutts of Google, if you are using a keyword phrase 2-3 times within a content, then their BOT is smart enough to identify what you are trying to highlight and rank for?

And for optimizing multiple keyword phrases, it is suggested to only focus on single keyword phrase (with sementic versions) for each page.

Did you mean for a new page?
Well, First identifying the major keywords you're working wit, one of them could be your new page. Compare the competition with those keywords. By chance if you find it hard to compete the other guys, you may use different pattern like, Cheap sunglasses to Affordable Sunglasses(if the competition is way too less for the affordable sunglasses you will have identify it yourself).
If your new age would be sunglasses.com/afforable-sunglasses.html, it would highly make sense to Google that sunglasses with the afforablesunglasses.
