My Alexa has been dropped from 240,000 three weeks before to 120,000 today, I did see some increase in sales and traffic to my website, but I don't think my works worth that much!!lol

 

It's because most of your visitors installed Alexa Toolbar.

 

My question is exactly where are you from ? Also have you posted your blog link on any social bookmarking sites profile page like facebook, myspace, orkut, twitter. Because if you have done that and most of your friends are using Alexa toolbar, then thatz the reason your alexa is rising.

 

I dont ever believe in alexa,only noobs believ in that.

You are right. It's because Webmasters can easily manipulate them.

 

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's a complete waste of time. I mainly use it for a quick check on sites that I plan on do business with, if they have a poor alexa ranking and barely any links then it was worth the 15 seconds to check.

 

But there are some traffic that doesn't show up or reflected in the Alexa toolbar

 

The reason is that alexa is not too much accurate.

 

You are definitely correct. They didn't include traffic coming from people who doesn't have the Alexa Toolbar.

I could do that. But Alexa means nothing for me.

alexa means a lot for advertisers and affiliate managers when considering buying your ad space or approving your site into their affiliate program, since there is no better info is publicly available
